Volunteer Firefighters

Volunteers meet twice monthly for hands-on training and practice drills.

Our volunteers are all certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), some are already certified emergency medical technicians (EMTs) or Paramedics, and all become certified State Firefighters' and Fire Marshals' Association (SFFMA)-certified firefighters.

Volunteer firefighters work side-by-side with the career firefighters of Bonham Fire Department.

Our volunteers assist in public education, community service, fire prevention through the LAFS program, and help in times of disaster.

All costs associated with being a volunteer at Bonham Fire Department (BFD) are paid for by the fire department. You will be issued   equipment and gear which the department supplies.  An given an allotment for response in the City of $10.00 per call and $15.00 per call in county for mutual aide.
