Volunteering

Library volunteers play an essential role as partners in the Library's mission of connecting people to the world of ideas and information.

We have a number of rewarding opportunities for volunteers including supporting children, teens, and adults, assisting with patron holds, keeping our collections in order, assisting with clerical work, helping patrons with technology, and assisting in the Summer Reading Program.

Are You a Good Fit to Be a Volunteer at the Library?

We host many volunteers annually; however, sometimes a volunteer simply does not match available opportunities. Here is a quick guide to determine if you would be a good match for our options:

  • Age 16 or older
  • Looking for an ongoing opportunity lasting 3 months or longer
  • Able to commit to an ongoing schedule (weekly or monthly) - at most, 15 hours per week
  • Able to pass a criminal background check (age 18 and older)

Volunteering is a self-rewarding experience that allows individuals to give their time while making a difference in someone else's life. Training is provided for all opportunities.
