Sean Pate is the City Manager for Bonham, Texas. As such, he acts as the Chief Administrative Officer of the local government and oversees daily operations without political interference. A veteran to city administration, Pate has over two decades of city management experience. He received his bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. He received his master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Bellevue University in Bellevue Nebraska.
Sean leads a Bonham team of over 100 employees and administers the annual budget to provide the Bonham community with a wide range of city services. He has broad experience in public administration and management, economic development, state and federal grants, development planning, public works administration as well as project funding and vision planning.
Pate was hired as City Manager by the Bonham City Council in July 2015.
Responsibilities of the City Manager
The City Manager's Office provides oversight and direction for all City departments. One of the City Manager's biggest functions is preparing and submitting a balanced budget to the City Council. The City Manager's Office also assists the City Council in the development and formulation of policies, goals, and objectives.
