Open Records Requests
In accordance with the Texas Public Information Act, all requests for public information must be made in writing, Requests can be submitted by mail, email, online using the Open Records form, or in person.
A written request should reasonably identify:
1) the records needed with enough description and detail about the information requested to enable the City to accurately identify and locate the information requested; and,
2) should indicate a mailing address, phone number, or other means to contact the requester regarding the request made.
Upon receipt the City will begin processing your request in the order received. Requests should be for documents, or other information that is already in existence.
The City of Bonham is not required to answer questions, perform legal research, or comply with a continuing request to supply information on a periodic basis. The City of Bonham may, however, ask for clarification of requests if it is uncertain as to what is being requested. Some records of the City of Bonham may be exempt from disclosure as provided by law.
Physical Copies
If physical copies are requested a charge of ten cents (.10c) per standard size page will apply. Information copied on oversized paper, computer disks, photographs, or other forms of media will require additional charges per the Texas Administrative Code; Title 1, Part 3, Chapter 70, Rule §70.3.
Active records must exist. No compiling or creation of records will be made. Information requiring research will be charged $15 per hour.

Requests delivered in person should be delivered to the City Secretary's Office in the Bonham City Hall located at 514 Chestnut Street and may be submitted Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
