Sick Leave

  • All full-time regular and salaried employees will accrue 3.75 hours of sick leave each bi-weekly pay period, with a maximum accrual limit of 480 hours.

                        

  • All Fire/EMS full-time shift personnel will accrue 5.5 hours of sick leave each bi-weekly pay period, with a maximum accrual limit of 720 hours.

Personal Leave

  • All full-time regular and salaried employees will accrue 16 hours of personal leave each year on October 1st.  Time does not carry over after September 30th.
  • All full-time police officers and 911 Telecommunicator employees will accrue 24 hours of personal leave each year on October 1st.  Time does not carry over after September 30th.
  • All full-time Fire/EMS shift employees will accrue 48 hours of personal leave each year on October 1st.  Time does not carry over after September 30th.

Holidays

  • 9 paid holidays annually

Vacation Buy Back Programs

  • Ability to sell back up to 80 hours of vacation annually.

Life Insurance w/ accidental death and dismemberment

  • $30,000 life insurance and $60,000 accidental death and dismemberment insurance provided for each employee at no cost to the employee.

Texas Municipal Retirement System

  • Participation in TMRS at 6% with a 2 to 1 city match.  Vested at 5 years.  Retirement at 20 years of service or age 60 with at least 5 years of service.

Deferred Compensation

  • Payroll deduction for a 457 tax deferred supplemental retirement plan available.   City does not contribute or match.

Governmental

  • City does withhold for Social Security, Medicare, and Federal Withholding.  
  • City does pay for unemployment and workers compensation.

Longevity Pay

  • After 12 months of employment, employee will receive $4.25 per month of tenure up to a maximum of 20 years or $1020 annually.
